| About: | Karnita Garner is an Extension Environmental Specialist with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System at Alabama A&M University (AAMU). She has B.S. Degree in Environmental Science and an M.S. Degree in Plant and Soil Science from AAMU. While working as a full-time Research Associate, she earned her Ph.D. with a concentration in Water Resources from AAMU in 2009. She joined Alabama Extension later that year while working as a Research Assistant Professor of Water Resources. She is a former NASA EPSCoR Fellow and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Star Fellow. She is also the 2016 recipient of the USDA-NIFA Regional Award for Excellence in Extension. Dr. Garner currently serves as the Team Leader for the Urban Forestry, Wildlife, and Natural Resources Management team at AAMU and provides statewide leadership over three Extension programs |
