About: As a Graduate Professor of Human Resources Management and Leadership for the Graduate School of the School of Business and Information Technology at Purdue University Global Dr. Steven Cates teaches Strategic Human Resource Management, Employment and Labor Law, Strategic Rewards, and Strategic Selection and Talent Management, and Leadership Strategies in a changing World. He has worked professionally in a number of Fortune 100 organizations in Human Resource Management at the local and corporate executive levels; He has held Human Resource Management positions with Kroehler Manufacturing Company, Miller Brewing Company, Wilsonart International, and Equity Group. He was the Director of Human Resource Management for Forsyth Technical Community College prior to becoming Assistant Professor and Department Chair for the School of Business for Averett University in Danville, Va.. He received his DBA in Human Resource Management from NOVA Southeastern University and received a second concentration in Marketing from NOVA as well. He has taught courses for Valdosta State University in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior. He created an AAS degree program in Human Resources Management for Rockingham Community College. He taught Human Resources Management and Marketing courses for both undergraduate and MBA students at Averett University. He teaches at the Doctoral level at Liberty University where he serves as chair and reader on doctoral dissertation committees. He has taught at Bethel University in their Masters Programs where he has taught all of the HRM courses to MBA, MS-Criminal Justice and in their Nursing programs. He presently is a Graduate Assistant Professor at the Orton Graduate School of Business at Liberty University He has authored over 180 publications in the fields of Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Leadership.
