About: | Dr. Jatindranath Gain received the B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Physics from Calcutta University, Kolkata, M.Sc. in Physics with specialization in Electronics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and B.Ed. degree from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata under Calcutta University. He was awarded Ph.D. (Tech.) degree in Optoelectronics, Nanophotonics, and Quantum Computations from Maulana Abul Kalam University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal, India. His thesis is in the discipline of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (School of Engineering Science & Technology) under the category Technology. The title of his thesis is: “Studies of some properties of novel semiconductor nanostructures for opto and Microelectronic applications “. He has been serving as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at Derozio Memorial College under West Bengal State University (WBSU), WB, India. He has been performing duties as a coordinator of Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) Derozio Memorial College Study Centre (H-04) since 2005. His research focused on Semiconductor and Optoelectronic devices, Nano Photonics, Quantum Mechanics, and Quantum Computation. He was a recipient of a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), India. He has executed a research project (UGC-MRP) entitled “Some Studies on the Effect of Size on Various Semiconductor Structures Used in Device Design” funded by the UGC, India. He has published over 20 refereed research articles in national and international journals and conferences indexed by Scopus, Sci, and Web of Science. His paper Archived at Cornell University was cited in Nature Reports Journal in 2015. He has delivered technical talks at several national and international conferences.
