| About: | Dr. R. SARAVANA SELVAKUMAR, Assistant Professor of English at G. Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti, received M.A., from V.O. Chidambaram College, Thoothukudi and M.Phil. from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. I received Ph.D. in African Theatrical Studies from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. I have twelve years of teaching experience. My areas of expertise are African Theatres, Cultural Studies, and ELT. Following the words of our former late president A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, I have been educating a number of students of our college. I regularly conduct spoken English classes free of cost. Placement-related training in the name of Linguaholic forum for the final year students. I take utmost interest in inducing the creative activity of our students and encourage them to write articles and concentrate on fine arts and publish creative work in the form of department (Rainbow) and college (Phoenix: A Literary) magazines. I have organized a National Seminar on Women Empowerment funded by ICSSR, New Delhi. * Editor-in-chief of the ‘Rainbow’ magazine run by the Department of English, GVN College, Kovilpatti * Editor-in-chief of the ‘GVNC Phoenix: An Annual College’ magazine run by GVN College, Kovilpatti * Coordinator of Linguaholic Training Forum - conduct regular placement classes for students at free of cost. * Coordinator of the Language Blossom forum and regularly conducts Spoken English classes for the students at free of cost. * Coordinator of College Social Responsibility Scheme for organizing several social awareness programmes. * Coordinator for organizing Student Induction Programme for the first year students. * English Language Laboratory In-charge. * Active member in various college committee – IQAC, IIC & Fine Arts Club * Member Secretary in BOS Academic Council * Coordinator of GVNC Cultural Fest.
