| About: | Dr. Viraj Desai is an academician, translator, and a researcher based in Surat, Gujarat, India. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of English at the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Vanita Vishram Women's University, Surat, Gujarat, India. She was awarded her Doctoral degree in the area of Translation Studies from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat in April 2023. Areas of her research interest include Translation Theory, Translation Criticism, and Indian Literature(s) in English Translation. She is also a certified translator trained under The Intensive Training Programme on Introduction to Translation conducted by National Translation Mission, CIIL, Mysuru. She has a keen interest in translating literature from Indian languages into English and vice versa and a specific interest in translating literature from her mother tongue, Gujarati, into English and in doing so, contributing towards widening the reach of Gujarati literature. |
