| About: | Dr. D. Thirumalraja obtained his Doctorate in Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. His doctorate research was on “The Problems of Elderly Tribal Persons at Kodaikanal Hills in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu: A Sociological Perspective”. His areas of interests are Tribal Studies, Gerontology, Social Anthropology and Minorities Studies. He is a life member in Indian Sociological Society. He served as a researcher in The Centre for Women’s Studies at Alagappa University, Karaikudi and also serving as a question paper setter in the same. He worked in UGC research project on “A Study on Social Exclusion of Dalits in Madurai and Theni Districts of Tamilnadu”, at Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. He gained experience in mass communication while working in Kodai F.M. (All India Radio) at Kodaikanal. He worked as project coordinator in Rural Development Trust, Kodaikanal funded by TANSACS. He is efficient in computer applications and he is acquainted with Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS). He has published two articles in International Journals on “The Problems of Elderly Tribal Women in Kodaikanal Hills: A Sociological Perspective” Published in peer reviewed “International Journal of Scientific Research Publications” and on “Reflection of Rural Elderly Women on Welfare Schemes: Expectations and Reality” in peer reviewed indexing journal of Indian Journal of Applied Research one article in National Journal on “Empowerment of Tribal Women”, Published in “Journal of Women’s Studies” (GEM)”, Alagappa University, Karaikudi. And also he published seventeen research papers in edited books and International / National conference proceedings. He has presented twenty four research papers in International / National Conferences and participated in workshops / symposia / seminar in various academic forums. |
