Abstract:
The global Internet infrastructure is critically dependent on submarine fiber optic cable systems that traverse the deep ocean, carrying over 97% of international data traffic. Geopolitical tensions, particularly conflicts involving major powers such as the United States and Iran, have direct and indirect consequences on these under sea communication systems. This paper analyzes the impact of such conflicts on Internet based services in Asian countries, with special reference to India and China. It also presents a detailed technical examination of submarine cable structure, deep-sea deployment, and interconnection networks among nations.
