| About: | Francis Jhun Macalam holds a Masters degree in Environmental Science and has worked in both academia and industry. He has more than 5 years of industry expertise working with environmental permitting and documentation, as well as environmental pollution mitigation, all of which are critical in ensuring that industries environmental regulatory compliances and management systems are met. From his research study at UPLB to his research exposure through publishing papers in international publications, he has demonstrated very great technical capabilities. His experience in natural resource management provided him with a solid foundation in community development, environmental preservation, and organizing various sectors through stakeholder consultation. He is currently an instructor for major environmental science courses such as Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction, Watershed Science, Geology and Soil Science, Waste Management, and Geographic Information Systems and Environmental Impact Assessment. In addition to his practical technological and supervisory abilities, he has established theoretical understanding in his field of industry-academy application, which can be further expanded through the sharing of best practices of environmental conservation and management in the country. |
