| About: | My major research areas are pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, pharmacology, development of herbal drug formulation. I have completed my M. Pharm. project on “Pharmacognostical, Antibacterial and Antioxidant studies of Ipomoea aquatica”. My Ph D project was on “Evaluation of Anti-inflammatory Activity of Ipomoea aquatica and Vernonia anthelmintica and Development of Combined Formulation”. I have worked on various aspects during my Ph D project such as Pharmacognostic studies and phytochmical studies of both mentioned plants, isolation of active phytoconstituent responsible for anti-inflammatory activity as well as formulation and evaluation of herbal anti-inflammatory gel using active fraction of the plant. Three Ph D students registered under me who presently working in different domains such as antidiabetic, immunomodulator and anticancer herbal drugs. I have guided 5 projects of UG students under SSIP (Student start up and Innovation Policy) scheme of Gujarat Government. Recently I have selected as Mentor in Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) at AICTE, New Delhi to guide two interns for their project works. I am guiding these students for their project areas “Evidence-based research study of Ayurvedic formulations mentioned in Indian systems of medicines” I am very interested to guide students in various research areas such as evidence based studies on traditionally used drugs and formulation as well as development of herbal drug formulations. |
