Abstract: This research aims to study the effects of statistical techniques development and its effect on Practice of accounting and its reports and preparing its studies to show the extent of these techniques on accounting developments. It also aims to show developments in statistical techniques that have affected the process of scientific research in general. A review of statistical literature has been conducted for this purpose. In addition, accounting main applications has been reviewed to see the effect of statistics. The research problem was defined as: “To what extent has the statistics developments affected and facilitate accounting practices”. Research hypothesis was: “The development in statistics has affected accounting practices and facilitates preparing its reports and studies”. The conclusion were research came to a set of conclusions, the first of which is that the developments of statistical techniques and methods has an impact on the development of accounting practice, however its application in Iraq organizations still below the required . The research also came up a recommendations that it is necessary to adopt the developments in statistics methods and techniques and information technology in preparing accounting reports and data, especially in investment report .
