Abstract:
Blog is a technology-supported writing platform facilitating students’ writing both inside and outside the classroom. This technology-supported writing platform may foster learners’ motivation, autonomy, collaboration, and reduce their anxiety, which has been attributed to be a useful tool contributing to the success of English learning. The existence of blogs has expanded space for writers to share and express their ideas that give the audience a chance to strengthen knowledge and writing skills with internet access. The underlying purpose of this writing thesis is to indicate learners’ perceptions towards utilizing blogs to improve their writing skills in the context under study. A questionnaire was distributed to collect data, which were used to explore second-year students’ perceptions of technology-supported writing platforms for this research. Data were collected by the involvement of 100 English-majored sophomores at a private university located in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. The results indicated that the major number of such participants had an awareness of the importance of blogs in writing skills, namely offering and receiving feedback, enhancing grammar, and upgrading vocabulary.
