Abstract:
Compensation management is a critical function of human resource management that significantly influences employee motivation, satisfaction, performance, and retention. In today’s highly competitive business environment, organizations are increasingly focusing on designing effective and equitable compensation systems to attract, retain, and motivate talented employees. The present study aims to examine the compensation management practices followed in organizations and analyze their impact on employee behavior and job satisfaction. The study considers both monetary and non-monetary components of compensation, including salary, incentives, allowances, bonuses, and employee benefits. It also evaluates key aspects such as fairness, transparency, and the linkage between performance and rewards. The research is based on both primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire from employees, while secondary data was obtained from journals, articles, and online sources. The data was analyzed using basic statistical tools such as percentages and comparative analysis. The findings of the study indicate that compensation has a direct and significant impact on employee motivation, productivity, and retention. While most employees are satisfied with their compensation, gaps still exist in terms of transparency and clarity in performance-based pay. The study concludes that organizations must adopt fair, transparent, and performance-oriented compensation systems to enhance employee satisfaction and achieve overall organizational effectiveness.
