Who can apply for the NSF graduate research fellowship program

  • Individuals who are citizens of the United States or are permanent residents can apply for the NSF graduate research fellowship program.
  • Students enrolled in a US govt. accredited universities or colleges and are in the first year of their courses can apply for the fellowship program.
  • Graduate or postgraduate students can also apply for the fellowship.
  • Students who had applied for the fellowship must be enrolled in any of the US govt. accredited institute after gaining a fellowship for continuing their education systematically.

Eligibility criteria for the NSF graduate research fellowship program

  • Must be a US citizen or a permanent resident of the country.
  • Determined to pursue a research-oriented masters or Ph.D. in the field supported by a Graduate research fellowship program.
  • Enrolled in a US-accredited institute ie. university, college, etc.
  • Have in the first or second year of their graduate program.

 Note: Non-residential (students on visas) and other nationals are not eligible for this fellowship.
